Current Stock:

Made in Canada, these exquisite and unique salt and pepper grinders were carved by west coast artist Mark Garfield. Born and raised on the West Coast of British Columbia, he developed an interest in carving at an early age copying totem poles and masks that inspired him throughout his youth. Mark's work reflects a contemporary approach to traditional northwest coast art influences which have shaped his carving style. His work is held in private and corporate collections around the world.

These recycled glass sleeves feature a beautifully carved Haida Chief in ceremonial wear complete with chilkat blankets. The ceramic grinding mechanism combined with the stainless steel post and cap makes these grinders suitable for salt, pepper or herbs.

Kitchen tested by a Marriott Executive Chef, these grinders will provide long lasting enjoyment.

Available in Slate, Rosewood and Ivory colors.

Approximately 8 inches tall with a 2 inch diameter.

This purchase was made after receiving the same grinder in the Rosewood finish option. I was so impressed with the first one I ordered, I decided I would order the Slate one to make them a set. What can I say? They're beautiful!

    Beautifully rendered grinder

When I placed my order for this grinder, I debated back and forth between the black and the rosewood colours. I ended up choosing the rosewood, because the photograph looked wood-like, but I wondered whether it would look that way in person, since it's made from recycled glass. Now that the item has arrived, I can report that it really does have a wood like feel, and the carving details are nicely executed. It's really handsome! I can see that I'm now going to have to purchase the black one to go with it as a set for both salt and pepper. I also ordered one of the recycled glass plates. Beautiful, also. So far everything I've purchased from Claudia Alan has been top-notch!

Proud to send this as a gift

This is a gorgeous grinder - I gave it as a wedding gift and I'm very pleased. Was surprised to not be able to ship it directly to the US, so it had to come to Ontario and then re-ship. My lone quibble.
